Olympus Legal Systems / Terms
Terms of Use
Effective September 30, 2026. These terms govern use of the olympuslegalsystems.com website.
1. Acceptance and changes
These Terms of Use govern your use of olympuslegalsystems.com (the “site”). By using the site, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site. We may change these terms at any time. The current version will always be posted on this page with its effective date. Your continued use of the site after a change means you accept the changed terms. These terms are effective as of September 30, 2026.
These terms cover the public website only. If you later subscribe to any Olympus Legal Systems product, that relationship will be governed by a separate subscription agreement, not by these terms.
2. Who we are
The site is operated by Olympus Legal Systems LLC, a New York limited liability company formed on October 1, 2026. Our mailing address is c/o Joanne Schlenk McAvey PLLC, 1641 Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY 11729. The company’s owner is a practising New York attorney.
3. Not legal advice; no attorney-client relationship
The site describes legal-technology software, including Aletheia, a citation and quotation verification tool, and Hermes OS, offered for New York litigation practices. Nothing on the site is legal advice. Your use of the site does not create an attorney-client relationship with Olympus Legal Systems LLC or with its owner.
Under Rule 5.7 of the New York Rules of Professional Conduct, we must tell you the following in writing: Olympus Legal Systems LLC provides nonlegal services. Those services are distinct from the practice of law. The protections of the attorney-client relationship, including confidentiality and the rules governing lawyers, do not apply to the company, its services, or your dealings with it.
Any output from our tools, including verification results, is a tool finding. It is not a professional opinion and it is not a substitute for the judgement of a lawyer. You must check any tool result with counsel before using it with a court or any third party.
4. Samples and accuracy
The site hosts sample pages, including a scripted “council” demonstration made of synthetic text, Law Watch summaries of published New York decisions, and a complaint-review sample. These samples are illustrations only. They are not legal advice. They may be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. We do not promise that any content on the site, including Law Watch summaries, is accurate, complete, or current. You rely on the site at your own risk.
The Aletheia API is a preview only. It is not available through the site. No accounts or API keys are issued through the site.
5. Your submissions through the form
The site has a contact and access-request form. It sends your name, work email, firm, role, practice area, and any free-text message you write to Formspree, a third-party form service, so that we can receive and respond to your enquiry.
Do not put client confidential information or client documents in the form. The form is not secure for that purpose and no attorney-client protection covers anything you send through it.
We may use enquiries submitted through the form to respond to you. How we handle that information is described in our Privacy Policy at /privacy/.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to do any of the following: scrape or harvest content from the site; load test or stress test the site; exploit or probe for vulnerabilities, except that you may report a vulnerability in good faith under our policy at /security/; attempt to access any non-public systems, accounts, or keys; reverse engineer any software made available through the site; or use site content to train machine-learning models.
You also agree not to use the site for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could impair the site or interfere with other visitors.
7. Intellectual property
The site, its text, design, graphics, and other content, and the Olympus Legal Systems name and marks, are owned by Olympus Legal Systems LLC or its licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-commercial licence to view the site and its content. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from site content except as that licence allows. All other rights are reserved.
8. Third-party services and links
The site relies on third-party services, including Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the site, and Formspree, which handles form submissions. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their acts or omissions. The site may also link to other websites. We do not endorse and are not responsible for any linked site or its content.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The site and all content on it are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, to the extent permitted by law. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be available, uninterrupted, or error free.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Olympus Legal Systems LLC and its owner will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the site. To the extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims arising from your use of the site is capped at one hundred US dollars ($100.00).
11. Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the site must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Nassau County, New York, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. There is no arbitration clause in these terms.
